A night to remember

The team celebrated the launch of the Houseology concept in style with an exclusive supplier event at the brand new beautiful offices.

What's On

This exciting new concept is shaking up the world of online interiors and encouraging customers to unlock their own inner designers with a beautiful new website and wealth of interior design inspiration.

Last night saw Kate and Jim host an amazing event for our team, suppliers and friends and welcome everyone to our fabulous new headquarters. After twelve months in development and design, we were delighted to give our guests a preview of our wonderful new concept in interiors - Houseology!

At the beginning of the evening Kate announced that this pioneering new concept is unlike anything seen in the interiors retail space before. "We want to open up the world of online interiors to encourage our customers to unlock their own inner designers" she explained. "We've developed a dynamic and interactive portal for all the brands and products our Houseologists curate, in a striking new website full of design inspiration, professional advice and a host of new tools and technology - Houseology is all about empowering our customers to make personal, informed, stylish decisions for their homes."

This wonderful night saw guests travelling to our new HQ from all over the UK and across the globe, to take part in an evening of design, e-commerce and unique Scottish hospitality. Our special guests, Sir Terry Leahy and Chairman Bob Willett, talked about why they have invested in Houseology and held a lively discussion on the future of interiors retailing and e-commerce. This was finished off with a great Q&A session with the audience. Among their predictions for the retail landscape, Sir Terry forecast that the interiors sector is set to see a significant growth in demand for bespoke, high end designer products & services, similar to that in the fashion industry over the past few years.

The Houseologists had a wonderful night of entertainment planned for our friends and as the inspirational talks drew to a close, it was time to enjoy some famous Scottish hospitality, organised by our unstoppable Marketing team. We were all blown away by the great sounds of the Scottish tribal band, Clann an Drumma who played a powerful mix of drums and bagpipes on the canal side and we were bewildered by the amazing talents of illusionist, Kevin McMahon – you really are never too old for a magic show!

The Houseology hospitality didn't stop there as guests were invited to a wonderful cheese nosing of five Scottish cheeses with the Roving Fromagerie and a dram or two of five interesting whiskies in our Whiskey tasting room with Douglas Laing & Co. This was followed by delicious hot culinary delights, cocktails and bubbles served by the fabulous Urban Food Theatre in our Hub, with music, fun and conversation continuing late into the night.

It was a memorable evening that everyone really enjoyed, with many new opportunities and relationships being forged. "It's been a privilege to host and entertain so many of our partners and guests in our new HQ" said Kate "and to share our plans and vision for the future with them - we're all really lucky to be part of such an amazing global industry and looking forward to what we can achieve together"

Just wanted to say a big thank you for last night’s wonderful event at Houseology! I’m heading for the airport with a smile on my face after being involved in a tremendously inspiring evening in a creative space filled with great characters, positivity and confidence – it was an honour to be part of it all!

Congratulations for a thoroughly well executed event on Wednesday, you have a fabulous venue and team to go with it. The presentation was truly inspiring and most definitely not the industry norm! We very much look forward to the development of Houseology (which is a fantastic name!)
