01.The Classics Updated
Eichholtz is famed for pairing the finest quality materials with the most luxurious designs and we love the unique originality that is synonymous with this iconic Dutch brand. Offering an unrivalled collection of designer furniture, lighting and home accessories, the Eichholtz collection redefines traditional designs, turning them into contemporary classics to bring timeless style to modern interior spaces.
02.A company with history
Internationally renowned, Eichholtz has developed its interior collections for over 20 years, and, in that relatively short time, the brand has become renowned for the finest craftsmanship and truly iconic designs.
Spanning a host of interior styles, Eichholtz designer furniture and lighting takes inspiration from founder Theo Eichholtz’s travels from around the world. Exuding luxury and sophistication, the designs offer a fusion of styles and are characterised by luxurious materials and a simple colour palette.
Based in Amsterdam, Eichholtz was founded by Theo after he returned from travelling the world with his school friend Auke Wichers. Visiting auction houses, luxury hotels, antique dealers and museums in both Asia and the United States, Mr Eichholtz discovered his passion for interior ambience and luxury furniture design. From there he began importing furniture, lighting and accessories from countries including Indonesia, Burma, India, China and Thailand.
Now one of Europe’s largest suppliers of designer home collections, Eichholtz continues to produce exciting furniture ranges which embody the unrivalled elegance and chic sophistication of the brand’s aesthetic.
Nurtured under the creative gaze of head of design, Edwin van der Gun and his dynamic creative team, the brand continues to seek inspiration from all around the world. Edwin explains, “Our sensational collections are inspired by the exotic locations we have visited and offer the ultimate in understated luxury without sacrificing comfort or coherence.”
04.The world of Eichholtz
Located in Noordwijkerhout, Amsterdam, the products are showcased, styled and photographed in the Eichholtz showroom across a series of tastefully designed rooms and expertly edited interiors, each with their own atmosphere. Including ambitious designs, modernised classics and exclusive treasures, the collections offer a near-endless choice of aesthetic-adventures thanks to Edwin’s passion for ‘products with distinct personalities which pass on uniqueness and exclusivity’, a rooted philosophy at the heart of every Eichholtz design.
Skilled craftsmanship, the finest materials and the utmost attention to detail are also prominent in every Eichholtz design.
The authentic crafts guilds have fascinated Mr Eichholtz since the brand’s inception and the team actively work with artisans around the world to preserve art production techniques which are now in decline in the modern age. Mr Eichholtz explains, “Even today I find myself fascinated by the countries I have travelled to where craftsmen are able to cast copper, cut wood, blow glass and weave rattan. It is those traditional, craft-based qualities that Eichholtz is still able to deploy in the manufacture of our diverse range of quality products.’
06.The Eichholtz aesthetic
Mixed materiality is key to the Eichholtz aesthetic and high gloss metallic and rich fabrics such as cashmere, leather and soft linen are the Eichholtz staples which help to achieve timeless interiors with an intimate luxury.
When paired with a monochrome scheme, Eichholtz furniture and homewares create a chic and elegant look. The designs are characterised by luxurious materials and a simple colour palette of white and neutrals, accented by high quality accessories to achieve a Luxe aesthetic that exudes grown up elegance.
Statement lighting and glamorous decorative chandeliers pair with Avant-Garde art and antique home accessories and graphic rugs combine with gorgeous geometric cushions working in harmony to create a modern aesthetic with chic appeal.
