Here at Houseology, we adore a rush of colour which is one of the many reasons that we love interior and lifestyle blog, Little Big Bell! We were delighted to chat to founder, Geraldine, about the interior styles she loves and how to capture Little Big Bell’s signature look!
Q: Tell us a little bit about Little Big Bell:
Little Big Bell is an award-winning London-based interiors and lifestyle blog with a love of all things bright, happy and colourful!
Q: What made you decide to begin Little Big Bell?
I am a medical doctor by day, blogging for me is my creative outlet – it started off as a hobby but now it is so much more than that.
Q: Have your tastes and styles changed since you began your blog?
I wouldn't say that my style or tastes have changed since I began blogging, but rather they have evolved over time. I am always trying out new ways of decorating or styling a room and I love exploring and experimenting with colour in home decor. When I discover a look that I like, I try to develop it further, but always giving it a colourful injection of Little Big Bell signature style.
Q: Where do you look for inspiration for creating blog posts?
I take inspiration from all that is around me, whether it is from my travels abroad, reading about new fashion trends or the seasonal colours of flowers. I'm very fortunate to have many brands and companies approach me with their latest designs. When I see a product I love, I instantly know how I would style it and incorporate it into my post ideas.
Q: Have you ever had any interior design disasters?
Once I tried to create a gallery wall and the nail I was hammering in hit concrete or metal, so wouldn't go in and it affected the overall look I was trying to achieve. Now that I have discovered 3M Command Strips for hanging framed prints without holes in the wall, there should be no more wall hanging disasters!
Q: Can you describe your own home?
I live in a Victorian terrace house over five storeys and I have kept all the period features in my home intact, including the original cornicing and fireplaces. The decor however is modern and colourful, set against a neutral backdrop.
Q: Is your interior style mirrored in other areas of your life?
I love wearing Kate Spade New York dresses and I have a huge collection of their colourful handbags. My interior style is very much in line with the Kate Spade New York aesthetic.
Q: Which Houseology look are you?
I would say I'm between the Urban and Luxe looks but with an injection of colour. I love the gold and glamorous accent colours in Luxe but the simplicity of the Scandinavian aesthetic in Urban. Add pinks and pastels to the equation and that is the Little Big Bell style!
