Here at Houseology, we know that interior inspiration can come from absolutely anywhere and everywhere but one of our favourite places to stay on the pulse of original, exciting design ideas and styling tips is, of course, Instagram. There are thousands of amazing, inspirational interior design Instagram accounts out there and we have curated a list of some of our favourite ones to watch for 2016 – you might even uncover some must-know interior photography tips!
We have been working with the wonderful Katy Orme of Apartment Apothecary for some time now and her Instagram never fails to inspire us with its soothing palettes and thoughtful compositions. Katy describes her home as a blank canvas filled with, “eclectic furniture, vintage finds and soft textiles” and has previously been told her interiors are like “a visit to Scandinavia via an English car boot sale!” This signature style is seen across Apartment Apothecary’s images which give us a sneak peek into Katy’s stylish life.
Julia of Stylonylon has long been a source of style inspiration for us and her Instagram (which now has over 20k followers) is a veritable sanctuary of chic. The combination of a sophisticated muted palette, laid-back style and Julia’s fabulous photography creates a gallery brimming with fashion, home inspiration and photographic tips and tricks. “I do think in photographs a lot and this impacts how I have put our house together,” says Julia.
03.A Quiet Style
Filled with beautiful moody vignettes featuring flowers, seasonal produce and lots of gorgeous table top shots, A Quiet Style is one of the most perfectly named Instagram accounts out there. Each shot is carefully considered resulting in a beautifully curated feed that makes us want to embrace the seasons and enliven our interiors with the beautiful blooms of nature.
04.My Scandinavian Home
After relocating from London to Sweden, founder of My Scandinavian Home, Niki, has created an Instagram packed with images that represent her passion for Nordic design. Specialising in beautiful home tours, this Instagram feed offers sneak peeks from some of the most stylish homes in northern Europe as well as gorgeous landscape shots and plenty of hygge inspiration.
05.Cate St Hill
For Cate St Hill, simplicity is definitely key and her Instagram account is a beautiful homage to her love of calming, light spaces with a flair for both Scandinavian and French influences. Describing her feed as a mix of interiors, coffee, plants and stripes, Cate’s account is a gorgeous dose of daily style.
Architect Eleni of My Paradissi brings her eye for design, love of her home country, Greece, and passion for simple interior style to her Instagram account. This crisp, clean collection of photos is filled with sunshine, design details and super-cool home ideas, perfect for an instant pick-me-up!
With over 30k Instagram followers, we are clearly not the only ones who love browsing her Instagram account! This Berlin-based designer and blogger has created a gallery of wonderful Mid Century style, monochromatic schemes and iconic designs – the perfect inspiration board for those looking to a Scandinavian influenced home makeover.
Trendenser is Sweden’s most-read interior design blog and the associated Instagram account is packed with both new and iconic designer collections, pared-back designs and signature Swedish style. Run by Frida Ramstedt this account is followed by almost 71k interior lovers and is definitely one to add to your feed if you’re a fan of crisp monochromatic interior design.
Artist, interior designer and stylist, Henriette created designlykke as a place to inspire her readers to create beautiful spaces of their own and the Instagram account does exactly that. Sharing her love of grey hues and an emphasis on materials, textures and iconic lighting design, it’s easy to lose hours to this gorgeous Norwegian gallery.

Award-winning blogger Katie Treggiden of Confessions of a Design Geek has carefully curated an Instagram gallery filled with pictures from the forefront of breaking interior design news and we just love it! New designer brands, exciting product launches and behind the scenes shots from design workshops and factories as well as plenty of style inspiration makes this one a firm favourite.
