Gubi Turbo Pendant
Product Code: GU0138
Sculptural Japanese paper lamp with spiral globe.
Celebrate the enduring charm of Japanese minimalism with the Gubi Turbo Pendant Light.
Exclusively produced by Gubi, Turbo was first invented in 1965 by Louis Weisdorf.
Since graduating from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1954, Weisdorf has collaborated with design icons including Verner Panton, Poul Henningsen and Le Klint.
Globe-like in shape with a rippled exterior, its complex structure illustrates sculptural design at its best.
Sculptural with contemporary appeal, it is made similarly to traditional Japanese paper lanterns.
The outer curve of the lamp is made from 12 aluminium spiral lamellae that form a flower-like globe around the bulb as the vertical layers reduce the gathering of dust.
Weisdorf's first product for Gubi, Turbo is a timeless beauty designed to create a zen-like illumination in the heart of its surroundings.
