Eichholtz Object Canova Set Of 2

Product Code: EI6148

Set of two bronze finish lions from Eichholtz.

Inspired by the superior Venetian bronze masterpieces of Italian sculptor Antonio Canova and symbolic lions of Ancient China, this dynamic duo are a gorgeous addition to add a historical edge to your interior space.

Taking inspiration from Chinese guardian lions - pairs of lions, also known as 'Shi'- the sculptures were first crafted in the sixth century AD from decorative stone such as marble and granite or cast in bronze.

Positioned outside the Chinese Imperial palaces, the lions were believed to have powerful protective benefits, as they banished evil spirits away whilst standing guard at the Emperor's gates.

Always made in pairs, they represent a manifestation of yin and yang with the female lion protecting the dwelling inside and the strong male protecting the building structure itself.

Steeped in history and elegantly sculpted, this distinctive pair are the perfect remedy to really make your interior space stand out from the crowd.

Made by Eichholtz, it is artisan crafted with meticulous care by skilled craftsmen. Each piece is unique and slight variations in appearance are to be expected and celebrated as no two items are exactly alike.
