Milanese designer & craftsman Piero Fornasetti has created over 11,000 pieces and his collection of objects and furniture is one of the largest of the 20th century. Fornasetti offers a contemporary take on a traditional design and was heavily influenced by Greek and Roman architecture which emanates through his wallpaper design styles.
Fornasetti's most iconic image titled "Tema e Variazioni" meaning "Theme and Variations" was inspired by the operatic soprano Lina Cavalieri. Other iconic Fornasetti imagery includes sun & time. His son, Barnaba Fornasetti, continues to design in his father's name.
